1 killed, another hurt in head-on crash on snowy Scott County road Paul Walsh, Star Tribune A head-on crash Tuesday morning on a snowy southern Scott County road left one driver dead and the other motorist injured, authorities said. The collision occurred about 8 a.m. in Belle Plaine Township on Union Hill Boulevard near Delaware Avenue, the Sheriff s Office said. A car heading north on snow-covered Union Hill strayed into the southbound lane and hit an oncoming pickup truck, said Sheriff Luke Hennen. The car s driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the pickup was taken by air ambulance to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale with serious injuries. Their identities have not been released.

MN traffic stop leads to shootout in Wadena County

By Doug Barrett Feb 28, 2021 9:25 AM The Minnesota BCA is investigating an exchange of gunfire between officers and two motorists in Wadena County Saturday night.  Here’s the full description as provided by the BCA: At approximately 8:48 p.m. Saturday evening, a Wadena County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic offense near the intersection of 205th Ave. and 280th St. in North Germany Township. The vehicle eventually stopped near 205th Ave and 270th St. A struggle ensued between the deputy and the motorist. A second motorist then arrived on scene and a short time later, a Sebeka Police Department officer arrived and the struggled continued. A short time later, at least one of the motorists began shooting at the officers. One of the officers returned fire. All four were struck by gunfire.
