Appointments c’ttee vets more ministers-designate June 1, 2021 Mr Osei-Owusu, Chairman of Appointments Committee The Appointments Committee of Parliament will tomorrow commence the vetting of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s ministerial and deputy ministerial nominees. They consist of a Minister of State-designate at the Ministry of Finance and 39 Deputy Ministers designate. The purpose of the constitutional exercise is to ascertain the suitability or otherwise of the nominees to occupy their designated offices. The ten-day exercise is in line with Article 78(1) and 79(1) of the Constitution, which states that the appointments are done with prior approval of Parliament. Per the vetting time-table, four nominees would appear before the 26-member committee in a day.

La Mankralo Exposes Plot Against Deputy Minister Nominee

  The La Mankralo Nii Obadai Adai IV has denied links of Deputy Minister of Local Government Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah to land being developed by one Mr Paul Ofori.   In a statement clarifying the issue, he disclosed that, “claims of ownership or involvement of this by Mr Adjei-Mensah Korsah are false. It’s a pure fabrication”.   According to him, “the purpose of this is to disprove the false claims to the land by the group and state that Mr Paul Ofori is the owner and verification of same can be done at Lands Commission”.   This comes at the back of a collection of bogus petitions containing fabricated lies against the Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman South, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah have suddenly started making the rounds in high places just when he is about to appear before the Appointments Committee of Parliament to be vetted for the position of Deputy Minister for Local Government.
