Rolling up your sleeve to get the COVID-19 vaccine at Gillette Stadium has been an unforgettable experience for many who have been vaccinated there and especially for those who received their shots during the site s early days. Betty Sparks, a registered nurse who came out of retirement to help administer the vaccine, said the process was much like standing in line at a Disney ride. The end was worth the wait, but getting there could be torture.

Weston High School sophomore Ella Kim was selected as a Grand Prize Winner of the state-wide Boston Pops Orchestra/Fidelity Young Artist Competition and will perform as violin soloist together with conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Orchestra in Boston Symphony Hall in a concert to be streamed online from June 3 to July 3.
The Young Artist Competition was held this spring, consisting of a preliminary video round and a final live round in front of a panel of judges from Boston Symphony Orchestra. As a winner, Kim had lessons with a musical mentor, Lucia Lin, first violinist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and worked one-on-one with Lockhart as well as special guest artist Chris Thile to prepare for her performance.
