Singapore to will bar certain travellers from UK and New South Wales from Dec 24

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Short-term travellers holding an Air Travel Pass with travel history to New South Wales (NSW) in Australia within the last 14 days before departure for Singapore will not be allowed to enter the Republic from Thursday (Dec 24). In addition, all long-term pass holders and short-term visitors with recent travel history to the United Kingdom within the last 14 days will not be allowed entry here, or to transit through Singapore, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday. This will also apply to all those who had obtained prior approval for entry into Singapore, said the Health Ministry.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital was given a special accolade for resilience during the coronavirus crisis. Speaking at the awards ceremony organised by global institute Great Place to Work on Monday (Dec 21), Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said that a great company to work for amid the Covid-19 pandemic is one that takes care of the physical and psychological health of its employees.

10 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, one in the community

7:34 PM MYT SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): There were 10 new coronavirus cases confirmed as at noon Monday (Dec 21), taking Singapore s total to 58,432. There was one community case and no cases from workers dormitories, said the Ministry of Health (MOH). This is the first community case reported since Dec 5. The last community case confirmed was a Filipino crew member who had already been identified as a close contact of another Covid-19 patient and was already in quarantine. There were also nine imported cases, who had been placed on stay-home notice on arrival in Singapore. MOH also gave an update on its investigations into the 13 coronavirus cases at Mandarin Orchard hotel last month that may have been infected after they had arrived here.
