KATHMANDU: A high-level Chinese delegation led by a vice minister of the Communist Party of China on Sunday called on Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari ahead of meeting other top leaders to patch up differences between the two warring factions of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, a week after the surprise dissolution of Parliament and subsequent political turmoil.

Kathmandu [Nepal], December 28 (ANI): Scores of people protested in Kathmandu on Sunday against Chinese interference in domestic affairs of Nepal shouting anti-China slogans and holding placards reading, “Back off China.”
This comes as China s four-member team led by Guo Yezhou, vice-minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) arrived here on Sunday on a four-day visit in what is believed to be its effort to assess the ground situation amid the split in the ruling the Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
According to sources, Guo is expected to meet the senior leaders of both the factions of the NCP.

New Delhi: India remains on a wait-and-watch mode with regards to Nepal, where the dissolution of the lower house of parliament is still churning political waters, while Chinese ambassador goes on active mode in meeting with top Nepali politicians.

Oli, who claimed that he had lost majority within the ruling party, Nepal Communist Party (NCP). The next elections will be held in March-April 2021 â less than three years after the communist electoral alliance got a majority in the polls.
