Representatives of members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) from the different branches in Edo State were denied entrance into the state government House office during their visit on Monday.
The lawyers embarked on a walk to the Government House in Benin City, the state capital to appeal to the state government to comply with constitutional provisions on the financial autonomy of the Judiciary.
However, on arrival at the government house entrance, they could not gain access to the premises as they were denied entry by security operatives.

Governor Seyi Makinde is planning to demolish the staff quarters of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) situated on the station s premises, Basorun, Ibadan, in the state capital, SaharaReporters has learnt.
A worker at the station who told SaharaReporters about the development said the workers Union at BCOS had decided to kick against the move.
SaharaReporters learnt that the staff quarters was built during the regime of David Medayese Jemibewon, a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as military governor of the defunct Western State (August 1975 – March 1976) during the military regime of General Murtala Muhammed to accommodate and support the staff of the station.
