There is apprehension at the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) secretariate in Osun State as a heavy security presence appear ahead of the LG election scheduled for Tuesday.
Operatives of Nigeria Police, men of the Department of State Service (DSS), Civil Defence operatives, Osun State Joint Task Force (JTF) and the Amotekun corps barricaded the NULGE state secretariat in Osogbo.
There are speculations that the local government election may not hold over a disagreement among members of NULGE in the state.

had approached the National Industrial Court, Ibadan division on the 23rd of March 2021 seeking an injunction to restrain the union from conducting any sort of election in the Osun State chapter of the union.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the boat mishap in Tijana village of Munya Local Government Area of Niger.
The president, in a condolence message issued by his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Monday, extended his heartfelt sympathies to the families of the dead and the injured.
The President said this incident is more disheartening as the victims were reportedly Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
While commending the life-saving work of the first responders and local divers at the scene of the incident, Buhari wished the wounded a speedy recovery and success on the search and rescue of some missing passengers on the capsized boat.

Daily Trust in Abuja at the weekend, the President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Alhaji Aliyu Wammako, said the association was working with other agencies to bridge the gap through the Rural-Urban Housing Initiative (RUHI) which was conceived in 2020.
Alhaji Wammako said, “We felt there’s a way that we can reduce the housing deficit in Nigeria because we are mandated to provide affordable houses to Nigerians, and it is on this note that we brought RUHI, and this is what we are doing now to make sure that in each local government area we are visible, and possibly we will build 100 housing units; in doing that we believe we are encouraging viable communities and also we’re creating economic clusters.
