Nigerian journalist dies in car crash | Premium Times Nigeria

A Nigerian journalist, Ibrahim Abdulaziz, has died in a car crash. Although details are still sketchy, the accident reportedly occurred Friday along Bauchi-Gombe road and involved a public vehicle the journalist was travelling in. Mr Abdulaziz and a yet to be identified female passenger were said to have died in the accident. Mr Adulaziz was a reporter who served as a stringer for PREMIUM TIMES, covering Adamawa and Taraba states. The chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Adamawa State chapter, Isiaka Dedan, confirmed the death of the journalist on Friday in a telephone interview. “He died today in an accident along Alkaleri road. I understand he was travelling to attend a wedding ceremony in a commercial vehicle,” he said.

Abdulaziz, who was the immediate past assistant secretary of Correspondents’ Chapel in Adamawa State, was last seen by his fellow correspondents at the Correspondents Chapel Gallery in the Deputy Governor’s Office complex, Yola, on Thursday, February 4.

Daily Post Nigeria Published The Edo State Police Command said a total number of 71 suspects were arrested for various crimes across the state in the past three weeks. Commissioner of Police, Phillip Ogbadu made this known to newsmen in Benin City, the state capital on Friday. He listed the number of suspects to include Cultism (26), Armed Robbery (17), Kidnapping (11), Ritualists (3), Murder (6), possession of firearm (5), Assault(2) and Rapist(1).
