A Nigerian journalist, Ibrahim Abdulaziz, has died in a car crash.
Although details are still sketchy, the accident reportedly occurred Friday along Bauchi-Gombe road and involved a public vehicle the journalist was travelling in.
Mr Abdulaziz and a yet to be identified female passenger were said to have died in the accident.
Mr Adulaziz was a reporter who served as a stringer for
PREMIUM TIMES, covering Adamawa and Taraba states.
The chairman of the
Nigeria Union of Journalists, Adamawa State chapter, Isiaka Dedan, confirmed the death of the journalist on Friday in a telephone interview.
“He died today in an accident along Alkaleri road. I understand he was travelling to attend a wedding ceremony in a commercial vehicle,” he said.

A famous journalist in Adamawa State, Ibrahim Abdulaziz, has died in a road crash.
Abdulaziz who was a prolific writer representing Voice of America (VOA) and Premium Times in Adamawa State, also presented programmes on the channels of Gotel Communications, a radio/TV broadcast station with headquarters in Yola.
Abdulaziz also ran Adamawa Times, an online news medium rich on happenings around Adamawa State.
Abdulaziz, who was the immediate past assistant secretary of Correspondents’ Chapel in Adamawa State, was last seen by his fellow correspondents at the Correspondents Chapel Gallery in the Deputy Governor’s Office complex, Yola, on Thursday, February 4.

The Edo State Police Command said a total number of 71 suspects were arrested for various crimes across the state in the past three weeks.
Commissioner of Police, Phillip Ogbadu made this known to newsmen in Benin City, the state capital on Friday.
He listed the number of suspects to include Cultism (26), Armed Robbery (17), Kidnapping (11), Ritualists (3), Murder (6), possession of firearm (5), Assault(2) and Rapist(1).
According to him; the command has recorded successes since he took over as commissioner of the command, highlighting the command’s recent activities to include anticrime patrols and raid operations around identified black spots.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers and founder Unity House Foundation, Kingsley Wenenda Wali, has predicted that the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party might remain intractable because issues at stake has descend to level personal egos.
He traced the crisis to the egos of the two key players in the crisis – Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation and the former governor of the State, and Senator Magnus Abe, who was former Secretary to the State Government, SSG, under Amaechi’s administration.
Wali, who made the assertion during an interaction with members of the new Executive of Correspondents’ Chapel of the Rivers branch of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, led by Amaechi Okonkwo, in Port Harcourt, regretted that APC in Rivers has lost so much into the crisis and members of party are tired of the endless fights and bickering.
