Bayfront Redevelopment Plan presented at Jersey City Council caucus meeting

The Bayfront Redevelopment Plan heads to the council for a vote on first reading tomorrow after clearing the planning board last month, as only HCV reported.
Jersey City Senior Planner Matt Ward began by thanking Ward A Councilwoman Denise Ridley and Ward B Councilwoman Mira Prinz-Arey for sitting on the Bayfront advisory committee and helping develop the parameters of the project.
Eric Fang of Perkins Eastman, the project lead for the city’s Master Plan, then led the presentation. He noted the site is on the corner of Route 440, the future site of the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) extension, and the Hackensack River.

Under Table 14 Prior Year Unobligated Section 5307 Passenger Ferry Grant Program, there is (1) NJD2018-PFGP-010- City of Bayonne, ferry moring platform deck and landside improvements – $656,800; (2) NJD2018-PFGP-013 Port Authority of NY&NJ – Commuter ferry vessel power and propulsion retrofit program – $2,480,000, (4) NJD2019-PFGP-009 New Jersey Dept. of Environmental Protection – Ferry slips, reconstruction upgrade at Liberty State Park – $5,900,000 and (4) FY 2020 NJD2020-PFGP-010 City of South Amboy – Radford Ferry project – $5,300,000.

New Jersey American Water Receives Leading Infrastructure Project Award From New Jersey s Alliance For Action
New Jersey American Water will be honored with a Leading Infrastructure Project Award from the New Jersey Alliance for Action. The award will be presented to the company virtually at the 10th Annual Leading Infrastructure Project Awards on February 17, 2021.
The award-winning project is for proactive and innovative use of Strong Base Anion Exchange (AIX) system to remove PFAS from the Springfield Well Field. The removal of PFAS to non-detectable limits is achieved using anion exchange resin media technology in two parallel, lead-lag contactor trains with pre-filtration. New chemical systems, pump upgrades and other associated work was also included in the project. Engineered with the help of Mott MacDonald Co., the project is being constructed by Bowen Engineering Corp. and Spark Electric, LLC.
