A total of 17 state universities and colleges (SUCs) and research and development institutes (RDIs) will be involved in the Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development’s (DOST-PCAARRD) implementation of its patent mining program for selected agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) commodities.

The DOST-PCAARRD said the program seeks “to influence changes in research and development (R&D) as well as technology transfer prioritization” in the AANR sector.
The participating SUCs and RDIs were also part of the two batches of the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) program, it noted. The DOST-PCAARRD also supported the IP-TBM program.
DA launches School-on-the-Air smart agriculture project

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, May 10 (PIA) The Department of Agriculture (DA) has launched the School-on-the-Air Program on smart agriculture in the Cagayan Valley Region.
Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar said that the program is one of the strategies of the department to capacitate farmers on modern agriculture technologies.
He said that the School-on-the-Air aims to present and discuss modern technologies on rice production that will enhance further the productivity of the local farmers to contribute to the rice sufficiency program of the government. Sa pamamagitan ng radyo ay maipapamahagi natin ang mga makabagong teknolohiya upang makamit ang masaganang ani at mataas na kita ng ating mga magsasaka. Sama-sama tayo sa implementasyon ng programang ito, he said.
