Inter-district bus, train and launch services will resume across the country on the condition that they operate at half their capacity for a week.
The cabinet division in a circular yesterday lifted the coronavirus restrictions on almost everything, except the educational institutions.
A circular was issued in this regard.
Nur Mohammad Mazumder, chairman of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), confirmed to The Daily Star that movement of long-distance buses will resume from tomorrow.

Also, in total 56 intercity trains (up and down) and 18 local trains will resume operation from tomorrow, Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said during a deal signing ceremony today.

Fifty percent train tickets will be available online. No ticket would be available at station counters to avoid crowds during the present Covid-19 situation.

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has started issuing driving licences and vehicle registration on a limited scale and in case of emergencies.
The transport regulatory body started providing the services from yesterday and will continue until further notice, a BRTA official said today.
People who are going abroad for study or work, for UN peace keeping missions, or facing emergencies, will get driving licences, reads the BRTA circular issued on Saturday.
BRTA will provide registration of vehicles in case of emergency following all necessary health safety guidelines, it added.

The government imposed a lockdown on Apr 5 to curb the spread of the coronavirus and tightened health restrictions later as the country entered the ‘strictest lockdown’ on Apr 14. Public transport by, road, water and rail, has been closed since.
Stores, shopping malls and commercial flights, both international and domestic, were recently allowed to operate as restrictions eased. But the public transport was still closed, leading to nationwide protests from workers, who called for services to resume while following health guidelines and with half the seats left empty.
