Councils have saved hundreds of thousands of pounds on printing costs during the pandemic, new figures show.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council spent £484,000 on printing between April 2020 and February 2021, compared to £965,000 in 2019/20 – a 50 per cent reduction.
And over the same period Staffordshire County Council saw its printing spend fall by 48 per cent, from £706,849 to £367,433.

One of Staffordshire s top wildlife attractions is planning to expand to help boost visitor numbers.
Peak Wildlife Park, at Winkhill, near Leek, has submitted a planning application for a marquee for educational visits, a relocated snack bar, covered eating area and an agricultural building, along with landscaping and a rerouting of the public right of way.

A prominent pub is facing demolition to make way for homes.
Plans have been submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council to demolish The Flying Horse Inn, at Leek, and replace it with five houses.
The pub sits on the main roadside gateway to the town in Ashbourne Road, opposite Leek Moorlands Hospital.

Conservatives in the Staffordshire Moorlands were hoping to gain one seat in this round of Staffordshire County Council elections.
Seven seats were up for grabs in the Moorlands, with the Conservatives currently holding six, while Labour has one.
Brown Edge and Endon has been a Liberal Democrat stronghold in the past and the Tories were hoping to increase their majority this year.
Labour s Charlotte Atkins, a former MP and veteran councillor, was hoping to hold onto her Leek South seat, which was billed as the one to watch .

Calls have been made for parking to be free in three towns to help boost trade.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council s car parking working group is currently reviewing parking across the area.
