‘The Worst I’ve Seen’: Capitol Police Face Scrutiny For Lack Of Transparency

The agency’s annual budget is around half a billion dollars, which is larger than the budget for the entire Detroit Police Department.
But until the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, few Americans were likely aware of the police force dedicated to protecting Congress.
Not anymore.
Capitol Police are now facing widespread criticism for the failure to prevent a pro-Trump mob from storming the building and putting members of Congress, the vice president, congressional staff and their own officers at serious risk. And advocates for government accountability say the Capitol Police’s penchant for secrecy only exacerbated these failures.
Wide range of styles and mediums in the show
The diversity of the show is reflected in the wide range of styles and mediums used to create complex pieces, of which 134 are 2D wall pieces and 44 are 3D pedestal pieces.
The Best of Show winner, Tony Sansalone, is a newcomer to the May Show, but has grown up in the area. He attends Bowling Green State University, majoring in studio art with a focus in drawing and painting.
His body of work is large scale realistic drawings of figures. Sansalone loves the large scale drawings and refers to them as “the elephants in the room.”

Bill Gates, 65, and Melinda Gates, 56, recently announced their
divorce after 27 years of marriage.
Like the Gates, an increasing number of people in their 50s and 60s are pursuing gray divorces.
Longer lifespans, a focus on raising children, and the destigmatization of divorce are driving factors.
For Marcus and Kristen Atha, the family has not one, but three graduations this year to attend. We ll be at three different ceremonies in the course of three weeks, said Marcus Atha, senior pastor at North Broadway Methodist Church. We re having big fun.
Back-to-back-to-back college graduation ceremonies
The Athas, of Clintonville, have four college-aged children: 23-year-old Lucas and 22-year-old triplets Chelsea, Cameron and Simeon.
Three of the four Atha siblings are graduating in back-to-back-to-back ceremonies this month. Last Sunday, Chelsea graduated from Bowling Green State University with an education degree. Lucas will graduate from Ohio State University Sunday with a moving-image production degree, and Simeon graduates May 16 from Boston University with an international relations degree.
