Sign Language Brokering in Deaf-Hearing Families | Jemina Napier

“The first book to draw an all-round picture of Child Sign Language Brokering, with a mixed-method approach spanning from hard data to discussing shame and caring, never losing sight of scientific rigour yet extremely easy and pleasurable to read. Sharing her lifelong research, Professor Napier broadens the horizon of both Interpreting and Child Language Brokering Studies.” (Ira Torresi, Associate Professor, University of Bologna, Italy)  “This book brings new and important perspectives on language brokering practices in deaf communities, going beyond moral judgements to look at actual languaging practices by deaf and hearing people in family settings. It should be required reading for professionals who work with deaf people and their families.” (Joseph J. Murray, Professor, Gallaudet University, USA)
