He said even relatively simple features like new interview rooms will make a great difference.
“Right now, when we have an interview we have to tell everybody in the building to be quiet and not talk because sound travels through our building. The wiring for the mics and all that other stuff, it’s so difficult to get good-quality statements on tape in our current facility, and then we’re jammed in there so tight that it’s not conducive to good, productive work.”

“I’m going to tell you that during the pandemic, our youth liason workers dealt with a lot of young kids that were having mental health issues. We had interventions with ten-year-olds that were suicidal. These are tragic things, and some of the things that we’re going to be doing here in the future are going to try and address those issues with the youth.”
