Former N.J. camp counselor pleads guilty to child porn charges for 2nd time

A man who formerly worked with children at a Jewish summer camp in Medford Township admitted last week that he distributed child sexual assault material in exchange for a 10-year state prison sentence, officials said.
Stephen Gifford, 36, of Medford, pleaded guilty last week to endangering the welfare of a child, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office announced Monday.
An investigation revealed that Gifford shared more than 1,000 images and videos of “sexual assault material,” according to a statement from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office. Detectives seized multiple electronic devices from his home and after they were examined and the office’s high-tech crimes unit found the material, they said.
MEDFORD A Pine Valley Drive resident pleaded guilty to distributing child sexual assault material and will be sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey state prison, the prosecutor s office said Monday.
Stephen Gifford, 36, was arrested last year as part of the Burlington County Prosecutor s Office s Operation Safe Quarantine, an initiative that works to minimize child exploitation.
Gifford had reportedly shared over 1,000 graphic images and videos of children, the prosecutor s office said. The BCPO High-Tech Crimes unit seized several electronic devices from Gifford s home as part of a search warrant.
Gifford pleaded guilty on May 5. As part of his plea deal, Gifford will serve at least five years before becoming eligible for parole.
BURLINGTON CITY The alleged daylight shooter who shot and killed a man and wounded a boy was arrested in South Carolina, police said Friday.
Nicholas Wahl, 20, was arrested on May 5 inside the apartment of a relative in Greenville, South Carolina, after fleeing the scene of the shooting here last month.
Wahl, of Saint Mary Street, reportedly opened fire on Dysheem Bruton, 27, as he was walking down the block with a 10-year-old boy around 5:30 p.m. April 30.
Both Bruton and the child were taken to Virtua Willingboro Hospital, where Bruton was pronounced dead. According to the Burlington County Prosecutor s Office, the child was struck in the left foot.

BURLINGTON CITY, N.J. - A man has been charged in connection with a shooting that killed a man and left a 10-year-old boy injured in Burlington City, prosecutors announced.
Nicholas Wahl, 20, who lives on the block where the April 30 shooting happened faces murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and related charges, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Wahl was taken into custody in South Carolina. Prosecutors are seeking to extradite Wahl to New Jersey.
