Programs with the Sutton Library: Summer reading program begins COURTESY OF THE SUTTON LIBRARY Fine free! Starting July 1, most Sutton Library items that you check out will be fine free! The Board of Library Trustees voted this into effect at its June meeting.  Please note that this only applies to our items that are checked out on July 1 and after, it doesn t affect items that are already checked out.  Also, this doesn t apply to other libraries items that you check out here that came via interlibrary loan. This policy applies to almost all of our items, but not museum passes and library of things.

Rochester elects newcomer Sarah Eby to Board of Health

David Hughes defeated Brad Morse of a position on the Water Commission. ROCHESTER Just 347 voters decided the outcome of three contested elections on May 26. Newcomer Sarah Eby ousted 26-year incumbent Dale Barrows for a spot on the Board of Health, Rochester government veteran David Hughes won a seat on the Water Commission over Selectman Brad Morse, and Marc Rousseau and incumbent Lee Carr edged out newcomer Dennis McCarthy for a position on the Planning Board. Eby received 182 votes for the Board of Health and Barrows received 154. “I’m just excited to help care for our town,” Eby said, adding she’s excited “just to work with the other two members of the board to move forward post-pandemic and to grow safely.”

Calvert Library to Increase Access Starting Saturday, May 22, 2021 | Southern Maryland News Net

Calvert Library is phasing in more access.  As of Saturday, May 22, the one-hour limitation on library use will be lifted.  Building capacity limits will also be increased. Customers will still be asked to wear an appropriate mask over their nose and mouth and to maintain a social distance of 6’ from others and help their children do the same.
