Westwood changes date of Town Election to April 28

WESTWOOD The push to return to in-person learning has caused Westwood to push the date of its annual Town Election.
During a meeting with the Select Board and the Board of Registrars on March 25, Town Clerk Dottie Powers said she was notified by school officials that two its school gyms, which would have been available for the election on April 27, were to be used as temporary classroom space that day.
Since April 28 is an in-service day, with no students attending, Powers requested that the election be moved to that day.

My name is Sheri McLeish, and I am running for the one-year open seat on the Library Board of Trustees.
I love the Norwood library and value so many of the services it provides. I am running for trustee because I want to contribute to the community, and feel that my professional experience and personal affection for the library make me uniquely qualified for this office. I have relied on libraries throughout my career as a journalist, editor, research analyst and digital strategy consultant. My love of reading led me to these professional roles.

The Town Caucus originally scheduled to be held on Monday, March 8, will not be held due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Instead, this year we will be preparing nomination papers for each of the 12 open positions on elected boards for 2021.
The following positions are open:
Moderator (one position for a one-year term)
Board of Selectmen (one position for a three-year term)
Board of Assessors (one position for a three-year term)
Dover School Committee (one position for a three-year term)
Dover-Sherborn School Committee (one position for a three-year term)

I am writing to urge Sudbury residents to reelect Marie Royea to the Goodnow Library Board of Trustees in the March 29 town election. Marie believes, as I do, that the Goodnow Library is a critically important part of the educational, cultural and social fabric of Sudbury.
She recognizes that modern libraries are more than mere repositories of books. Even in a pandemic they are a focal point for the community, an adjunct to our education system, a place to inform us, entertain us and keep us connected to the world. That s why she has worked hard with Goodnow s excellent library staff on issues ranging from strategic planning to programming, acquisition strategy and the shift to digital media.
