On Monday, Gress announced Shaun Fontaine will transition from his current role as band director at Alliance High School to become the school’s assistant principal. He will assume the post for the 2021-22 school year.
In a news release, the district said the change is pending approval from Alliance City Schools’ Board of Education, which meets April 20.
Changes at Alliance Elementary and Alliance Early Learning schools were announced Tuesday.
Starting in 2021-22 school year, the district announced, Alliance Early Learning School will have two principals one for kindergarten and first grade, and one for preschool.
Laura (Twaddle) Albrecht purchased the practice from J. Randall Crawford April 1, renaming it Albrecht Dental.
Located at 2460 S. Union Ave., the dentistry has been part of the Alliance community since it was founded by Crawford s grandfather in 1918. Crawford s father also worked at the practice, but Crawford himself did not originally plan to take the same career path. When I went to college, I had no intention of being a dentist, but at some point I had to pick something, and it sounded more appealing, he said. When I got into it, I knew it was the right choice, and I never looked back.
– Jane Timken entered the Stark County Republican Party headquarters to welcoming eyes and applause.
Timken, the former Ohio Republican Party leader, is running for U.S. Senate after Sen. Rob Portman decided not to seek re-election in 2022.

Timken, a longtime Stark County resident, jumpstarted her campaign Tuesday by launching canvassing and phone bank operations in central and northern Ohio, the first 2022 campaign to start such efforts.
Timken told The Canton Repository that she is a huge believer in reaching out to voters and listening. She said the last election cycle, we set a record here in Ohio with 13 million voter contacts.
