Stinky Binky s is Adam’s kitchen creation offering elaborately decorated and tasty cheesecakes for those special occasions or simply a late-night sneaky snack. In spite of the COVID-19 economic downturn, the business that made its first sale in 2019 has established a Facebook presence and has a rapidly growing customer base. The product comes in two sizes four-inch cakes and a large cake that is the equivalent of six of the smaller ones. 

Iowa lawmakers want to micromanage underfunded universities

A bill that advanced past a subcommittee in the Iowa House would bar the state’s public universities from spending money from grants, donations and other nonstate sources without approval by state lawmakers. It’s the latest misguided effort by lawmakers to micromanage universities with dubious justifications. It doesn’t take much imagination to think up scenarios where such a change would be disruptive and harmful. If the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics receives a grant to conduct pressing medical research, perhaps on a pandemic virus, why should it be required to embark on the cumbersome task of seeking legislative approval?

Iowa COVID-19 advisers warn of chaos after shots opened to all seniors

Coralville man allegedly on PCP charged with OWI

01/28/21 A Coralville man who crashed into several cars this past summer while under the influence of PCP has been charged with OWI. Police say that 31-year-old Terry Christian of 10 th Street was westbound on Holiday Road the evening of August 11 th and was involved in multiple collisions. He was evaluated at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and a blood draw was taken for an OWI investigation. The results came back positive for PCP, and a warrant was requested. It was granted on Monday, and Christian was charged on Wednesday with his first OWI, a serious misdemeanor. If convicted, he faces up to a year in prison.
