The six roles will be available at Spire Wirral Hospital where apprentices will undertake workplace learning alongside university study. A multi-million pound further and higher education hub is to open in Northallerton later this year.
The Campus@Northallerton (C@N) project has been developed following a partnership between Hambleton District Council, the University of Sunderland and York College.
C@N will be based at Treadmills – the former Northallerton Prison site which is being transformed into a retail, business and leisure complex.
Officials say that currently students living in Hambleton have to travel out of the district to access further and higher education and many don’t return.
