Dozier, 33, spent almost his entire Minnesota tenure as the Twins’ everyday second baseman. He participated in the 2014 Home Run Derby hosted by the Twins, made the 2015 All-Star Game as a reserve and won a Gold Glove in 2017. His best season came in 2016, when he slugged a career-high 42 home runs and finished with an OPS of .886 in 155 games.
The Nationals signed Dozier during the 2018-19 offseason to a one-year deal in hopes of replacing the departed Daniel Murphy at second base. Dozier struggled with consistency but ultimately finished with 20 home runs to extend his streak of six straight seasons with at least 20 long balls. He’s credited with being an important member of the Nationals’ clubhouse as they made their World Series run that fall.

Softball season is underway as the Murray State softball team kicked their season off in the Southern Mississippi tournament on Feb. 13 and 14.
The Racers lost three of their four games in the tournament over the weekend, including two losses to Southern Illinois University and another loss to University of Southern Mississippi.
Game One
The Racers started the weekend against the Southern Illinois University Salukis, a game they lost 3-1. Junior right-hander Hannah James got the start on the mound for Murray State and struggled early, walking the first batter and allowing a hit from freshman right fielder Bailey Caylor in the first inning. However, the Salukis weren’t able to score until the fifth inning when graduate student Maddy Vermejan scored on a fielding error that also allowed for Caylor to reach first.
