George Jung, a cocaine smuggler who, at the height of his criminal career in the 1970s and ’80s, reaped millions of dollars a day from running drugs through the notorious Medellín cartel, died on Wednesday in hospice care in his hometown, Weymouth, Mass. He was 78.

A Mississippi community is mourning the loss of their 55-year-old pastor who was killed by a small plane, which was carrying three Texas residents who were flying to a university graduation ceremony, that crashed into his home.
The Hattiesburg community has raised, as of early Sunday, nearly $11,000 through an online fundraiser it put together for the family of Gerry Standley, an assistant pastor at the Wayside Holy Temple church, who was one of the four people in the house when the plane, a Mitsubishi M-2B-60, crashed on Tuesday night.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - The mother of a University of Southern Mississippi student who drowned over the weekend is remembering her son after his tragic death.
Crystal Frazier is the mother of Robert Brent, the 20-year-old who drowned at a Dauphin Island beach Sunday night. His body was found Wednesday.
âHe was the best kid you could ever ask for. He was extremely protective of me and those that he loved,â Frazier said.
