Kroger Health, the health care division of The Kroger Co, announced Thursday that it is launching a $5 million giveaway to motivate more people to get the Covid-19 vaccine and support the Biden administration's goal of administering at least one shot to 70% of the US adult population by July 4, according to a company news release.

ANN ARBOR – In search of a health care job in patient experience?
University of Michigan’s health system will be holding a series of virtual hiring events throughout June in search of patient attendants.
Michigan Medicine’s hiring events will take place on Mondays throughout June from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
According to the event release, Michigan Medicine is searching for individuals looking to gain skills in a health care setting with a background in patient care. Potential candidates include working professionals as well as medical or nursing students looking to get experience.

Daniel Clarke Petersen, who stood 6-foot-10, was known as a gentle giant who always had a smile on his face and who loved spending time with family and friends.
Petersen, 30, died April 22, 2020, at the University of Michigan Hospital of complications from COVID-19.
He was a graduate of Farmington High School before attending Visions Unlimited, a post-secondary program that serves young adults with developmental and physical disabilities. He learned life skills in regard to transitioning out of school, including job skills, his mother, Debra Petersen, said about his time at Visions Unlimited.
He completed the feat, along with many others, to raise awareness for organ donation.
But that energy is gone.
“Now I can barely walk across the hallway,” the 36-year-old said.
Bailey, who has received four organ transplants throughout his life, is facing another hurdle as his body rejects his transplanted lungs after 10 years.
He is undergoing testing to see if he qualifies to reenlist for another transplant.
“And I’m afraid he doesn’t have very long to wait,” said his girlfriend, Aleshia Ritchey. “I can only imagine how tired his body is.”
But Bailey hopes he’ll get his shot, and get back to doing his charity events in the coming years.
