MOORHEAD, Minn. (MSUM Athletics) A 13-2 run in the fourth quarter helped the Minnesota State University Moorhead women’s basketball team top Northern State, 63-51 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Friday night in Moorhead, Minn. The win clinched a berth in the upcoming NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament for the Dragons.
MSUM has won three in a row and improved to 7-4 overall and 6-3 in the NSIC North. Northern State fell to 4-9 overall and 3-8 in the north.

“He was really larger than life and extremely optimistic,” said Anne Labovitz.
Anne and Mark Labovitz go down memory lane expressing the type of person their father Joel Labovitz was just days after his passing.
“He was a great dad. I think that was something he paid a lot of attention to was us. We were very aware of that, said Mark Labovitz.
Not only did Labovitz care for his family.
“Our father was a family man first and foremost. He loved our mom Sharon, so much. His life really revolved around her,” said Anne Labovitz.
He also had a love for business.

There was good news from Washington this week for the College of St. Scholastica. Calls from the offices of U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman and Congressman Jim Oberstar confirmed that the college s McNair Scholars Program will be funded for another four years.
Oberstar said the college will receive $240,043 under the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program.
