Nick Gates: Offseason work “huge” for Giants’ young offensive line
Starting center also lauds new coach Rob Sale as “awesome”

Perhaps the best news out of OTAs for the New York Giants is that there has been full attendance at the voluntary workouts from members of the team’s offensive line at least at the sessions that have been open to the media.
With a first-time center and three rookies to work into the lineup, the Giants were placed at a disadvantage a season ago by the COVID-19 pandemic that forced cancellation of all on-field offseason work, preseason games and severely curtailed NFL training camps.

Similar reporting legislation from former New Orleans lawmakers JP Morrell, who is running for a City Council seat, and Helena Moreno, who is serving on the City Council, was passed in 2015 but needed tightening after LSU found gaps to skirt those laws.
“We want to make sure this behavior is corrected,” Barrow said previously. “What we thought was already in place. We learned about all the gaps that existed and about how individuals were able to go around. In some instances there was not clarity on how the law should work.”
Mizell said the testimony that came out of the Select Senate Committee s hearing galvanized lawmakers to lock down the language to protect college students in the future.

Lafayette-based home health care company LHC Group is buying Heart of Hospice from a South Carolina-based holding company, LHC Group announced Wednesday morning.
The move expands LHC Group s footprint in five states, adding 16 hospice agencies in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and South Carolina. In Louisiana, Heart of Hospice operates in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Franklin, Alexandria, New Orleans, Monroe, Covington, Shreveport, Lake Charles and Thibodaux.

LHC Group s announcement did not include information about the sale price, though it said the purchase would add about $92.5 million in revenue each year. In an email, a spokesperson for LHC Group said the company would not be making any further comment about the acquisition until it closes, which is expected to be in the third quarter of 2021.
