After nearly 30 years working in the airline industry, George Rasmusson turned to another form of transportation in retirement.
Anyone who has taken a cruise on the Breezy Belle on Pelican Lake will recognize Rasmusson as their pilot as he drove Breezy Point Resort’s 100-passenger paddle-wheeler excursion boat for the past seven years. He piloted 65-70 cruises each year, though only about 20 last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

North Dakota forward Jordan Kawaguchi has been selected as the 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award® winner in NCAA® Division I men’s hockey. The award, chosen by a nationwide vote of Division I men’s hockey coaches, national hockey media, and fans, is given annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in Division I men’s hockey. Kawaguchi is the first student-athlete from the University North Dakota to win the Senior CLASS Award.

1. St. Cloud State University is advancing to their school s first-ever National Championship game. They re taking on the University of Massachusetts (UMass as commonly referred to). The game is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The winner gets the title.

GRAND FORKS A petition asking North Dakota legislators to remove amendments related to Planned Parenthood and other organizations that perform abortions has collected more than 1,000 signatures as of Thursday, April 8.
The petition comes the same week the North Dakota House approved legislative amendments that would levy potential arrest for faculty or staff who sign contracts with organizations that perform abortions. This comes after lawmakers say North Dakota State University failed to heed the Legislature’s warning last session about its continued partnership with Planned Parenthood.
