NARAYANGANJ, April 30, 2021 (BSS) – Jannat Ara Jharna, the âsecond wifeâ claimed by Hefazat-e-Islam leader Mamunul Haque, toady filed a case against him for allegedly raping her enticing into marriage.
She recorded the rape case with Sonargaon police station in Narayanganj.
Later, she was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for medical check-up, police sources said.
On April 3 last, locals held Hefazat-e-Islam leader Mamunul Haque at the Sonargaon Royal Resort along with Jharna.
According to the case statement, Jharna was forcibly kept at the homes of acquaintances of Mamunul after the resort scandal.

Three leaders of Hefajat-e-Islam were placed on remand for different terms in two cases filed with Paltan Police Station over last month s violence in Dhaka.
Mufti Habibullah Mahmud Quasemi, an executive member of now defunct Hefajat s central committee; and Mufti Faisal Mahmud Habibi, former joint secretary general of Hefajat s Dhaka city unit, were placed on three-day remand each in the case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jashim passed the order after Md Kamrul Hasan Talukder, an inspector of Detective Branch of Police and also the investigation officer of the case, produced the duo before his court with a 10-day remand for each in the case.

Dhaka, Apr 28 (IANS): Funds for militant outfit Hefazat-e-Islam, which was behind the widespread violence last month, was deposited into two bank accounts of its senior leader Mamunul Haque and the donors have been identified, Bangladesh Police said on Wednesday. We ve so far identified 313 people who have financed Hefazat on different occasions. We have found evidence of 6.47 crore takas being transacted to and from Mamunul s two bank accounts, Additional Commissioner, Detective Branch, of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, A.K.M. Hafiz Akhter told IANS.
Police would seek another seven days to interrogate Mamunul, he added.

A Dhaka court today placed Hefajat-e-Islam Joint Secretary General Mamunul Haque and its Dhaka city unit president Junayed Al Habib on seven-day remand each in two cases filed with Motijheel and Paltan police stations over the 2013 mayhem and recent violence in Dhaka.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the orders after two investigation officers submitted 20 days remand prayers for each in two cases.
Md Kamrul Hasan Talukder, an inspector of Detective Branch of Police, submitted a 10-day remand prayer for them in the case filed with Paltan Police Station over the violence on March 25 this year.

A Dhaka court on Monday placed Hefazat-e-Islam Joint Secretary General Mamunul Haque and its Dhaka city unit president Junayed Al Habib on seven-day remand each in two cases filed with Motijheel and Paltan police stations over the 2013 mayhem and recent violence in Dhaka.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the orders after two investigation officers produced them before the court with submitted 20 days’ remand prayers for each in two cases.
Earlier in the day, Mamunul and Habib were shown arrested in the cases after two petitions were submitted in this regard.
