KUALA LUMPUR: The number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has continued to show an upward trend in the last two days, with 1,889 cases recorded today compared with 1,767 cases yesterday.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the latest developments brought the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 365,829.
Sharing the information on his Twitter account, Dr Noor Hisham said that Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 517, followed by Sarawak with 489 and Kelantan with 226.
Perlis, which recorded zero cases yesterday, reported three new cases today.
Dr Noor Hisham, in a statement, also said that a total of 1,485 recovered cases were reported today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 347,780.

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 Malaysia recorded another 1,889 new Covid-19 infections today, bringing the total number of infected to 365,829 as of today.
Selangor topped the states with 517 cases followed by Sarawak (489 cases), Kelantan (229 cases) Sabah (142 cases), Kuala Lumpur (134 cases), Penang (92 cases) and Johor (84 cases).
Other states with double digit cases today are: Perak (56 cases), Kedah (53), Negri Sembilan (51 cases), Pahang (14 cases) and Terengganu (14 cases).

Perlis, which recorded zero cases yesterday, reported three new cases today.
PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry has taken down a few more controversial articles from its MyHealth portal, a day after they deleted an old article about sexual harassment.
This came after readers said that a few articles about sexual identification and orientation that were published on its website between 2012 and 2013 were misguided .
Checks on the website on Wednesday (April 14) showed that the articles had been taken down.
MyHealth is the Ministry s online platform aimed at educating the public on a wide variety of health issues.
In one of the articles, a writer who is an academic and registered psychiatrist said women tend to become lesbians if they prioritised their careers .
A day before, the country recorded 1,767 new infections.
Six were imported infections, while the rest are local transmissions.
Cumulatively, the country’s total confirmed cases are now 365,829.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a Twitter post, said Selangor recorded the most cases with 517 new infections.
This is followed by Sarawak (487 cases) and Kelantan (226).
There were also eight new Covid-19 deaths, pushing Malaysia’s death toll up to 1,353.
In his daily Covid-19 updates, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said those who died were aged between 45 and 89.
Five of the deaths were in Sarawak, while the rest were in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah.
