Covid-19: Sarawak contributes 29 6% of total infections on Tuesday (April 6)

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Sarawak’s cases were 29.6% of the country’s total number of new infections. “Out of Sarawak’s new cases, 168 of them were detected from infection clusters in the state. “About 184 new cases were those traced from close contacts to positive cases. “The rest are sporadic cases (29) and import cases (four), ” said Dr Noor Hisham in his daily Covid-19 statement. Selangor was the second highest with 242 new cases, followed by Kelantan with 126 cases.

In a statement, its director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of the total daily infections, 24 were imported, bringing the cumulative positive cases to 353,329 since the pandemic arrived in Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded 1,070 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, down from yesterday’s 1,349, while seven more fatalities due to the disease were reported in the same period. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the latest development brought the cumulative number of positive cases in the country to 352,029, with 14,278 cases still active. He said nine of the cases today were imported, with the rest involving local transmissions. “The import cases involve five non-citizens and four citizens, while local cases involve 904 citizens and 157 non-citizens. “There were also 1,294 recoveries recorded today, bringing the total number of patients cured so far to 336,456 cases,“ he said in a statement today.
