Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah congratulated Dr Rose in his Facebook post, adding that the appointment took effect July 13. “Dr Rose Nani was the Deputy Director (Infectious Diseases), Disease Control Division, MoH (Ministry of Health).

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced this on Facebook on Tuesday. Dr Rose, who is deputy director for infectious diseases under the Health Ministry s Disease Control Division, took over from Dr Rundi who has been state director since November 2012. Talk of Dr Rundi s imminent transfer emerged last week and on Tuesday, state health officials confirmed that a new director had turned up at the state headquarters here for a briefing.

Daily vaccination rate breaches 400,000 doses Syafiqah Salim © Provided by The Edge KUALA LUMPUR (July 13): Malaysia’s daily vaccination rate shot up to 419,650 doses on Monday (July 12) the highest number so far since the country started its vaccination programme in late February, compared with 291,217 doses administered on Sunday. Of the 419,650 doses given, 262,250 doses were for individuals who received their first jab, while 157,400 were for second doses. This brings the total number of vaccine doses administered to date to 11.78 million. With that, some 8.1 million individuals have been given at least one dose, including 3.684 million individuals who are fully vaccinated with two doses, representing 11.26% of the country’s population. Meanwhile, 4.41 million individuals have received their first jab.
