PETALING JAYA: The number Covid-19 deaths in the country has surpassed the 3,000 mark since the pandemic outbreak last year, after 103 more deaths were recorded on Thursday (June 3).

KUALA LUMPUR – The public has been urged to undergo an immediate check-up if they have symptoms or have been in contact with a positive COVID-19 case, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said if found positive either through the RT-PCR (Real-Time Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction) or RTK Antigen (Rapid Test Kit Antigen) test, individuals need to inform the Ministry of Health (MOH) through self-notification on the MySejahtera application or the nearest district health office.

“Bring the test results and come to the nearest COVID-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) in your state for further assessment,” he said in a post on his Facebook, yesterday.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 Malaysia is committed to winning the war against Covid-19 with other member states of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in the Western Pacific Region, says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said building on the success of previous public health measures in flattening the Covid-19 pandemic curve, Malaysia was intensifying efforts to achieve herd immunity through vaccination, including for marginalised groups.
KUALA LUMPUR - Less than a year ago, Malaysia was hailed as a success story in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic, with fewer than 13,000 cases by early October.
While many blame the government for poor pandemic management, officials and netizens lament that people are still failing to obey safety rules, including a ban on visiting during the Hari Raya celebrations last month, which led to numerous clusters forming.
Malaysia was on a partial movement control order at the time, and it remains to be seen how seriously people will take the current tightened measures.
Just days before a total lockdown kicked in on Tuesday, massive traffic jams were seen at highways and there were hordes of panicked shoppers at supermarkets, sparking the hashtag #RakyatGagal, or citizens fail , on Twitter.
