PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s appeal against his conviction and jail sentence for misappropriation of RM42 million of SRC International Sdn Bhd funds proceeded today after the Court of Appeal rejected the former premier’s bid to postpone the hearing.
A three-member bench led by Judge Datuk Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil dismissed Najib’s application to adjourn the hearing after counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah informed that they have additional evidence to put it in their appeal including the evidence related to the family of former Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.

PUTRAJAYA, April 5 The Court of Appeal today dismissed Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s application to adjourn his appeal hearing against his conviction and jail sentence for misappropriation of RM42 million SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.
Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil in chairing a three-member panel, said there were insufficient grounds to grant such an application after Najib’s lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah earlier indicated the need for the defence team to be given a one-month adjournment for today’s hearing.
PUTRAJAYA: The hearing of an appeal by Datuk Seri Najib Razak will proceed on Monday (April 5) after the Court of Appeal dismissed the former prime minister s application to adjourn the matter.
A panel of three appellate court judges, chaired by Justice Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil, said the bench was unanimous in its decision that there was no sufficient reason to warrant an adjournment.
He said Najib must make a proper written application to adjourn the hearing in his appeal in the SRC International Sdn Bhd case, where the Pekan MP was convicted of seven graft-related charges involving RM42mil from SRC s funds.
