A Clifton man trafficked porn images of children six to 13 years old, authorities said.
John Daniel Suther, 50, remained held Thursday in the Passaic County Jail following an early-morning raid at his Columbia Street home off Main Avenue the day before.
He’s charged with possessing, producing, maintaining and distributing child pornography.
Authorities also charged Suther with the illegal possession of four high-capacity firearm magazines, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Sherriff Richard H. Berdnik said.
Berdnik’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit investigated along with Valdes’s Sexual Investigations Unit after learning that Suther obtained and shared the images using Yahoo! Messenger, they said.

A Passaic man was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexually abusing a child several times over the course of nearly a year, authorities said.
Edu Roldan-Lopez, 40, was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Louis A. Guzman said in a joint release.
Passaic police had received a report in late January, after which detectives from Valdes’s Special Victims Unit interviewed the child and more than one witness, they said.
The youngster “reported being sexually abused [Roldan-Lopez] on numerous occasions at the child’s home in Passaic between October 2017 and December 2018,” the release says.
Driver sought in hit-and-run that killed 35-year-old N.J. man

A Passaic County man was killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run crash on Route 46 west in Clifton, authorities said.
Dharmesh H. Patel, 35, of Clifton, was walking across the highway when he was struck at 12:17 a.m. near Rock Hill Road, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and city police Chief Thomas Rinaldi.
The driver fled the scene and Patel was then struck by another car. The driver of the second car, a 52-year-old man from New Brunswick, pulled over and remained at the scene, police said.
N.J. man, 45, shot to death, authorities say

A 45-year-old Paterson man died Sunday night after he was found shot multiple times on a city street, authorities said.
Raaseon Adams was lying on the sidewalk in the 200 block of Summer Street when police arrived shortly before 7 p.m., according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora.
Adams was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:10 p.m., according to police.
