2 men critically wounded in triple shooting in Paterson area known as ‘monopoly block,’ cops say Updated Feb 11, 2021; Two men were in critical condition late Wednesday following a shooting in Paterson that left one other person wounded in an area police say is popular with drug dealers and their customers. Paterson police were called to a report of shots fired shortly after 5 p.m. to the area of Summer Street and Broadway where officers found three city men – ages 37, 38 and 52 – suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and city Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora. They were all taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson. The 52-year-old and 38-year-old were both in critical condition Wednesday night, Valdes said.

Forchion, 56, and passenger Dawn Perry, 29, of Freehold, were arrested around 12:25 a.m. on various drug offenses and traffic violations, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes. The longtime advocate for the legalization of marijuana told New Jersey 101.5 he was found with a couple grams of marijuana, two vape pens and $9,000 in cash, which he said was seized by the arresting officer. The news release from Valdes did not mention the money and Chief Assistant Prosecutor Andrew C. Palestini would not disclose information about the cash citing the ongoing investigation.

At 10:15 p.m. Monday, police and fire teams responded to a fire reported at a Market Street building in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a statement. The fire did not affect any nearby buildings and no injuries were reported, according to the statement. After less than a day, the investigation led police to Giancarick Carbonell, 32, of Paterson, and he was arrested early Tuesday morning, the statement said. Carbonell is charged with aggravated arson, the statement said.
