KARACHI: FIFA-installed Normalisation Committee has shown willingness to hold the Pakistan Football Federationâs (PFF) elections in six to eight months if all stakeholders cooperate.
Shahid Khokhar, an NC member, told this to the federal minister for IPC Dr Fehmida Mirza during a meeting with her at Islamabad on Wednesday. The IPC secretary Mohsin Mushtaq and the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Col (retd) Asif Zaman also attended the meeting.
According to sources, a detailed discussion was held on various aspects of the football conflict which has brought the sport to a standstill once again following recent suspension of Pakistan by FIFA after the Ashfaq group occupied the PFF headquarters in Lahore.

KARACHI: Ever since FIFA appointed a Normalisation Committee for the Pakistan Football Federation in September 2019, one man has been consistently mentioned as having had a big say on the decisions taken by the NC.
Mohsen Gilani has been called the orchestrator, the influencer, the ring leader to whose tune the NC has danced. He has maintained a low profile, working behind the scenes in Pakistan football. Until now, of course.
On Friday, Mohsen met Dr. Fehmida Mirza, the federal minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, who for the last month has been working to resolve Pakistan football’s latest crisis which has resulted in a FIFA suspension.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has no plan to invite all the stakeholders under one roof to resolve the issue of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), currently facing FIFA’s suspension, but the PSB certainly hopes that a better solution will come out soon.
In an exclusive interview with
Dawn, the newly appointed Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Asif Zaman was asked if the government would invite all the stakeholders to set a roadmap to resolve the issue. He replied: “Our doors are open for all and we are engaged with some of the groups openly and some dialogue are continuing behind the doors which I cannot disclose to media at this stage.”

ISLAMABAD: Ashfaq Hussain Shah called on the Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Fehmida Mirza in her office on Thursday during which he shared the proposals suggested by his group to end the ongoing football crisis in the country.
Pakistan has been suspended by FIFA after Ashfaq and his group of football officials, who came to power after a Pakistan Football Federation election held by the Supreme Court which was not accepted by the global football body, took over the headquarters of the country’s football governing body from the PFF Normalisation Committee which was appointed by FIFA to hold fresh elections.
