Distancing from the dinner reception hosted by her party president Shahbaz Sharif held on Monday for the parliamentarians of the PPP, the ANP, and other opposition party leaders, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz reiterated on Tuesday the gathering was not of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
PML-N Vice-President Maryam told reporters outside court Shehbaz hosted the dinner as the opposition leader only to devise a strategy for the budget session, whereas the PDM would go ahead with its meeting within two days to decide the alliance’s future course of action.
She said she had nothing to do with the dinner for she was not a parliamentarian and that “stop making an issue out of everything”.

ISLAMABAD: As the opposition members strongly criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s Kashmir policy, Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs Andleeb Abbas told the National Assembly that the Pakistan government, military leadership and the federal cabinet were on one page on Kashmir and Palestine issues.

Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, a prominent member of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said that tonight’s dinner is in honour of the opposition party, hosted by the leader of the opposition. He made it clear that this is not a gathering for the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
He said the leader of the opposition and president of the Pakistan Muslim League-N is hosting a dinner party today, and his party has decided to grace the gathering. Party members like Sherry Rehman, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf are expected to be present at the dinner.
