ISLAMABAD: The attack on a police team in G-13 on Sunday night in which a head constable was martyred seems to be targeted, police said on Monday.
Senior police officers told
Dawn on condition of anonymity that it was too early to ascertain whether the attackers were terrorists.
However, circumstantial evidence suggested it was a targeted attack, the officers said.
“According to a report, a terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which is being verified,” added a police officer.

Karnataka Vikasa Patra 2021 began at 12.05 pm. Yediyurappa presented the eighth Budget in his political career and the third during his present term as the Chief Minister since July 2019. Before presenting the Budget, Yediyurappa visited Sri Raghavendraswamy Mutt at Seshadripuram and offered pujas.
As soon as the CM rose to present the Budget, Congress, under the leadership of former CM Siddharamaiah, disrupted the proceedings and staged a walkout and claimed that the Government had no “moral right” to present the Budget.

MARDAN: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday inaugurated various developmental schemes and announced a number of new projects worth billions of rupees for Mardan during his daylong visit to the district. The inaugurated projects included Safe City Project, administration block and gymnasium at the Bacha Khan Medical Complex besides launching Sehat Card Plus scheme to the entire population of the district.
