Atif Zaman denied bail as complainant alleges she is receiving death threats July 18, 2021 A sessions court on Saturday dismissed a bail application filed by Atif Zaman in the DHA double murder case on the grounds that apparently there were sufficient evidences available against him. The additional district and sessions judge of South IV at the judicial complex inside the Central Prison pronounced his verdict after listening to the arguments from the prosecution and the defence. The judge observed that in the light of the arguments submitted by the prosecution and the complainant, it appeared that prime facie sufficient incriminating evidences were available against the accused; therefore, he was not entitled to bail.

Robber killed in DHA encounter - Newspaper

KARACHI: An alleged robber was shot dead when the robbery victim retaliated with his licensed weapon and police also arrived on the spot and returned fire in Defence Housing Authority on Friday, said police. A citizen drew cash from a bank in DHA and was on his way in a car when four suspects riding two motorbikes chased him. They intercepted the citizen on Khayaban-i-Sehar, snatched Rs450,000 cash from him and tried to flee. In the meantime, a police party on patrol reached there and an encounter ensued in which the robbery victim also used his licensed pistol against the muggers.
