UPS driver James Joseph’s philosophy sounds a lot like a slogan his company once had: What can “Big Brown” do for you?
In the case of the philanthropy Joseph created, the answer seems to be “whatever it takes.”
When he’s not delivering packages, Joseph has helped deliver air conditioners and fans to people during sweltering weather, water and supplies to hurricane-stricken areas and, most recently, masks and hand sanitizer to schools across Louisiana.

BATON ROUGE, La. â A bill to extend early voting from seven to 10 days during presidential elections was approved unanimously by a Louisiana House committee Wednesday.
Rep. Frederick Jones, D-Monroe, offered his bill after the record voter turnout in the 2020 presidential election. Louisiana saw more than 2.1 million people vote in November, and 986,000 of them voted early in-person.
The bill originally extended early voting for every election, but after financial concerns from the registrars of voters, Jones limited the bill to presidential elections. The extension of early voting comes with a price tag of $400,000 to the state, including pay for poll workers.
This week, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards announced that the state of Louisiana has received approximately $216 million to be allocated for road and infrastructure projects throughout the state. This is part of the $1.4 trillion 2020 Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act passed by Congress last year.
According to a press release from Governor John Bel Edwards Office, $155 million is to be used at the state s discretion, $30 million specifically for bridge repair and/or replacement, $20 million for the state’s large metro areas and $11 million for electric vehicle charging infrastructures.
