6 people arrested after Parker County officials find illegal narcotics, stolen checks inside 2 homes

Updated: 9:43 AM CDT April 7, 2021 PARKER COUNTY, Texas Five people were arrested on April 1 by the Parker County Sheriff’s Special Crimes Unit for having illegal narcotics and stolen checks. A sixth person was also arrested on an unrelated warrant, officials said.  The Special Crimes Unit was conducting an investigation in the 3100 block of North Cardinal Road in Azle when they found 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine inside two homes.  Investigators also found blank checkbooks, several business-issued checks, and government stimulus checks that didn t belong to the suspects, officials said. Authorities believe the suspects stole the checks from mailboxes of various addresses within Parker and Tarrant Counties. 

Weatherford man arrested after assaulting dog

MorgueFile Parker County Sheriff s Office deputies arrested Sean Thomas Sloan, 28, of Weatherford, after a neighbor reported witnessing him assault his 3-year-old husky. Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said deputies were dispatched to the 7200 block of Comanche Trail around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday where the neighbor showed them a cell phone recording of the assault on the dog named Shy. The video depicts Sloan aggressively grabbing the dog as it was tethered in the front yard of the home. Sloan then struck the dog in the face and neck with a closed fist, contorting its neck, forcing its snout to touch its back, and struck it several additional times, according to a release from the sheriff s office. The dog attempted to escape Sloan, at which time, Sloan grabbed the dog s muzzle and forced it to the ground while striking it on its rear right hip, face and neck several more times. The dog was able to get away from Sloan and ran under the residence.

Springtown man arrested for aggravated assault, harassment of public servant

Special to the Weatherford Democrat Apr 3, 2021 MorgueFile  SPRINGTOWN — A Springtown man has been arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and harassment of a public servant, according to a release from the Parker County Sheriff s Office. Deputies arrested Michael Scott Heusser, 36, after responding to an incident involving Heusser and a 16-year-old male around 12:15 a.m. Saturday morning. Deputies met with the teen who reported that Heusser had physically assaulted him and threatened him with a knife during an argument that occurred earlier at a different residence. The teen stated that he and Heusser had been arguing about his grades when Heusser began striking and verbally assaulting him, according to the PCSO. Heusser then pinned the teen to a wall, biting him in the face and arm and brandishing a knife while stating, I’m going to make you homeless, and I’m going to kill you.
