A popular Mississippi lake has been closed for four years, but when it opens later this month anglers should expect fantastic fishing. It s usually a very big event when we open a lake, said Jerry Brown, assistant Fisheries chief of staff for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. The fish have not been caught before, so they ll hit almost anything you throw. We usually get a big crowd when we open the lakes. Catch rates are usually very high.

Teresa Smith said the city of Jackson delivered her some bottled water on Friday.
However, the water was left in the lobby of her apartment complex on Joanne Street and by the time she went down to get it, it had been taken.
Smith, who is disabled, had asked that the water be delivered directly to her third-floor apartment.
“I’m very weak and in pain and I can’t swallow my medicine,” she said.
