Police determine Washtenaw County man was shot in Detroit Updated 1:37 PM; PITTSFIELD TWP., MI – Police investigating a shooting originally believed to have occurred at a Pittsfield Township apartment complex discovered the victim was actually shot in Detroit. Police were called at about 8 p.m. Thursday, May 13, to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for a reported gunshot victim being treated at the hospital, according to the Pittsfield Township Police Department. The victim, a 25-year-old Pittsfield Township man, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm that was not considered life threatening, police said. The shooting was originally believed to have occurred in the 2100 block of Glencoe Hills Drive, police said.

At about 2:10 p.m. May 12, a construction truck with a boom and bucket entered the intersection of Textile Road and State Street where it snagged a power line and then struck a utility pole, according to the Pittsfield Township Police Department. There were no injuries reported and no other vehicles involved in the crash, police said. The crash resulted in a power outage in the area and the closing of the intersection. Power has since been restored, but the roadway is still closed as of 9 a.m. May 13.

Police were called on two separate occasions to the Pittsfield Township Meijer, 3825 Carpenter Road, on Friday, April 23, and Saturday, April 24, for two reports of customers being robbed by a man with a gun, according to the Pittsfield Township Police Department. In both incidents the victims reported being approached inside the store by an unknown male who demanded their cellphones after showing them he had a gun, police said.

The robberies happened Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24 at 3825 Carpenter Road in Pittsfield Township. In both separate robberies on those days the victims reported being approached by the teen inside the store. The victims say he demanded their phones and was armed with a gun. During the second incident the victim refused to give the teen his phone and called police with a description of him.
