A brand new Dash 8-400 aircraft is going to be added to the fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Friday.
The aircraft is the last of three aircrafts purchased on G2G (government-to-government) basis between the governments of Bangladesh and Canada. First and second Dash 8-400 under the deal reached the country on December 27, 2020 and February 24, 2021 respectively. These three brand new aircraft have been added to Biman’s fleet to expand its operation in short range including domestic and South Asian destinations.
The new Dash 8-400 is a 74-seater aircraft built by De Havilland, a well-known Canadian aircraft manufacturer. With the new plane, the number of Biman’s aircrafts has increased to 20, including four Boeing 777-300ERs, four Boeing 787-8s, two Boeing 787-9s, six Boeing 737s and four Dash 8-400s.

Maintaining flight schedule is the biggest challenge for Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said newly appointed Managing Director and CEO of the national flag carrier Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal today.
About his plan to take Biman to a new height, Abu Saleh said he has taken time to craft short, mid, and long-term strategies. During a press conference at Biman s head office at the city s Kurmitola, the Biman boss said he wants to ensure that Biman flights leave on time.
