Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to Singapore on Saturday morning for medical treatment, reports UNB.
Fakhrul, along with his wife Rahat Ara Begum, left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines around 8:40am, his personal secretary M Yunus Ali told the news agency.
He said Fakhrul will receive treatment at Farrer Park Hospital for various health complexities, including blockage in the nerve of neck.
After reaching Singapore, Yunus said, the BNP leader will stay in quarantine as per the rules there and then go to the hospital for treatment.

De Havilland Canada confirms it is considering ”pausing” production of its Dash 8-400 turboprop amid the pandemic.
The Toronto, Canada-headquartered company tells FlightGlobal on 28 January it is committed to sell and deliver the type, and to support the existing global fleet, “while taking appropriate measures to safeguard our people and our business”.

“While the very challenging market conditions being faced by the industry may lead to a pause in production this year, De Havilland Canada has not determined the duration of such a pause if one were to occur,” the company says.
US-Bangla Airlines a name of panic!
US-Bangla Airlines has turned into a ‘transport of panic’ in recent times as technical glitches and mismanagement are found in the flights of the leading private airline company in Bangladesh.
Crashes and emergency landing of US-Bangla flights often take place due to their mismanagement. An aircraft of the airline crashed in Nepal on March 12 in 2018, leaving 51 people dead.
Passengers found that the weather radar of a US-Bangla aircraft is not working while it was taking off.
When they contacted the US-Bangla office, officials said no spear parts are available.
“If we get it repaired, all flight schedules will be disrupted. So, we are compelled to run the flight with the problems,” an official said.

BM Ashraf Ullah Taher, additional deputy commissioner (media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) confirmed the situation to our Sylhet correspondent on Monday night.
A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying 157 passengers from London landed in Sylhet s Osmani International Airport on January 21, said the police official.
As per the instruction of the health ministry, they were put under institutional quarantine at different hotels for four days.
