Passengers coming from London to stay in 7-day quarantine Sun Online Desk 23rd January, 2021 05:07:49 Passengers coming from London of the United Kingdom (UK) to Bangladesh will have to stay in seven-day quarantine.   Md Mokabbir Hossain, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said the decision of the government will implement immediately.    The decision of 14-day institutional quarantine was taken on December 28, last year for the passengers coming from the UK to Bangladesh, so that new strain of coronavirus does not spread in the country.     Cabinet secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, at a press conference on that day, said, “The flight will remain operational. But all UK returnees will stay in 14-day quarantine. The passengers will be kept at Ashkona Hajj Camp and Diabari of Uttara in the capital for quarantine under the government management. Ex-BCB General Secy Raisuddin dies

Ex-BCB General Secy Raisuddin dies Raisuddin Ahmed, former General Secretary and Vice President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB),  died at a city hospital on Wednesday. He was 82. He breathed his last at 10 am at Evercare Hospital. Raisuddin was admitted to the hospital on December 25 with Covid-19 symptoms and was released from hospital after recovery. But, later, had been admitted again following lung infection. UNB adds: Raisuddin Ahmed was a former  Director (Admin) of national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines. He was the general secretary of erstwhile Bangladesh Cricket Control Board (BCCB) from 1975 to 1981 and served the board as vice president from 1991 to 2001.
