It s all happening through a traveling art exhibit showcased by the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment. The traveling exhibit is called Your Words Have Power, and those words are an opportunity to educate the Pueblo community and help fight substance use. I think that people with substance abuse issues are just like you and me, they re humans and addiction doesn t discriminate, said Laura Lisonbee.

Delta COVID-19 variant found in Pueblo

The highly contagious Delta variant of COVID-19, which the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment estimates accounts for more than 50% of recent cases across Colorado, has made its way to Pueblo. The Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced Monday that the variant has been confirmed in Pueblo County, where nine cases have been diagnosed so far. Because overall COVID-19 testing volume is low in Pueblo and the variant can only be identified through DNA sequencing at a lab which can take several days to complete PDPHE Director Randy Evetts said the actual number of Puebloans infected with the Delta variant is likely higher.

‘Highly transmissible’ COVID-19 variant found in Pueblo County PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) The Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced Monday that the Delta variant of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Pueblo County. PDPHE says they have currently sequenced nine diagnosed cases so far. The Delta variant is a strain of COVID-19 first identified in India. It is considered to be more virulent and tends to lead to more serious symptoms. PDHPE director Randy Evetts said the actual number of people infected with the Delta variant in Pueblo is likely higher. He says it s been hard to identify the exact number of cases because people are now getting tested less frequently, and that affects sequencing.
