Regional drug agents shot in daring rescue of suspects by own father

Police are investigating the possibility that the suspects, also male siblings, were rescued by their own father.
Investigation and a manhunt for the suspects are ongoing.
The victims were identified as Police Corporal Nicolo Leon Luna III and Police Staff Sgt. Bobby B. Judan. The two are personnel of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU 9).
Investigation showed that the policemen initially brought brothers Jonar and Moner Jul-Asri to the Zamboanga City Medical Center to secure medical certificates as part of COVID-19 protocol.
While the group was walking towards their vehicle outside the hospital, an unidentified gunman fired at the policemen at close range. The policemen were wounded but one managed to fire back.

+ April 20, 2021 THE slain complainant against the alleged erring 11 police officers formerly assigned at the Sawang Calero Police Station did not avail herself of a security detail from the witness protection program despite receiving death threats after she sought help from the Commission on Human Rights 7 on her case.
Victim Ritchie Nepomuceno, 35, was a bit of complacent when it came to her personal security after the Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) Visayas Field Unit filed the criminal charges against the police officers, said Leo Villarino, chief investigator of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) 7.
