Lohia, 69, appeared before Bristol Magistrates’ Court earlier this week and admitted to possession of the Class B substance.
Police were pursuing a man who assaulted an officer during a drug search and then fled, eventually making his way into Lohia’s apartment. Police forced their way in through the locked door, but the initial suspect was nowhere to be found.
Police then focused their attention on possible drugs in Lohio’s home.
After spotting the cannabis, Lohia confirmed it was his and for his own personal use.
Lohia reportedly has had similar offences in the past, but has been “out of trouble for a good 10 years, to his credit,” prosecutor Paul Kelly told the court.
