We’ve entered the politics-as-judo phase of the Democratic primary for Philadelphia district attorney. Challenger Carlos Vega is trying to turn a strength of incumbent Larry Krasner’s a geographically diverse base of contributors into a weakness. Vega, an assistant district attorney for decades before Krasner fired him in 2018, raised $131,412 in the last five weeks of 2020, according to campaign-finance reports filed this week. Krasner raised nearly $162,000 in all of 2020.

George Soros-funded DAs oversee homicide spikes; police, allies fight back

“It’s like we don’t have a prosecutor here, we have two public defenders,” Los Angeles ADDA President Michele Hanisee said. Ms. Hanisee echoed complaints from police and prosecutors in Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles and St. Louis all cities that witnessed record homicide rates in 2020 or enormous increases from the previous year’s tally. The homicide sprees in those four cities occurred on the watch of district attorneys who came to power with the help of political action committees bankrolled by billionaire liberal activist George Soros, who increasingly devotes his largesse to municipal law-and-order races.  The millions of dollars that Mr. Soros’ PACs pumped into the races dwarfed spending in previous district attorney elections.
